Rocoto Wireless Video

Rocoto Solutions

Rocoto Medical Wireless Video Systems

Rocoto Solutions medical wireless video systems carry live surgical video from endoscopy processors, surgical microscopes, C-arms, surgical cameras and robotic surgery sources to secondary monitors and recorders — without a video cable across the floor or through the sterile field. The Rocoto MD11 and Rocoto MD62 connect over standard HDMI (plus 12G-SDI on the MD62), so they work with the imaging systems, displays and recorders a facility already owns. Chilcutt Medical helps surgeons, HTM/Biomed, clinical engineering, equipment planners and Supply Chain select, quote and purchase the right Rocoto system for each room.

Clinical Applications

Wireless video where clinical teams need it

A Rocoto transmitter connects to the video output of an existing imaging system; receivers deliver the same live image to the displays and recorders the team needs — positioned for the procedure, not for the cable run.

Surgical Operating Rooms

Monitor placement that follows the procedure

Laparoscopic, robotic and open procedures each call for different monitor positions. Wireless video lets the team place secondary displays for the surgeon, assistant and anesthesia without being tied to a video cable back to the source.

  • One transmitter feeds up to four receivers — in-room monitors, recorders, or both
  • Fewer video cables on the floor and around the sterile field
  • Connects to existing HDMI and SDI displays and recording systems
GI & Endoscopy Suites

Endoscopy video without the long cable run

The transmitter can be mounted on the endoscopy stack, sending the processor’s live video to monitors positioned for the endoscopist, nurse and assistant — replacing long video cables that create trip hazards and complicate room turnover.

  • 4K video from the endoscopy processor to monitors and recorders
  • Independent wireless feeds can serve separate monitors for two physicians
  • Reposition carts and displays between cases without re-cabling
Hybrid Operating Rooms

Built for rooms crowded with equipment

Hybrid ORs combine surgical equipment with fluoroscopy, CT and robotics, each with its own displays and cabling. Rocoto links are dedicated point-to-multipoint connections that do not use the hospital Wi-Fi network, with encrypted video and automatic channel selection.

  • Dedicated wireless links — no dependence on hospital Wi-Fi
  • AES-256 encryption with automatic and dynamic frequency selection
  • Up to six independent Rocoto links in one operating room
Education & Surgical Observation

Share the procedure with learners and observers

Send the live procedure view to additional displays for residents, students and observers, and to recorders for teaching and documentation — without adding permanent video cabling. The head-mounted Rocoto HM11X adds the surgeon’s point of view (availability on request).

  • Additional observation displays from a single transmitter
  • Feed recorders for teaching and procedure documentation
  • Supports teaching programs in academic and veterinary settings
Technical Advantages

Engineered for RF-dense operating rooms

Rocoto MD62 — manufacturer-specified sub-millisecond wireless transmission latency, per Rocoto, for real-time 4K60 surgical video. MD62 details →

20,000+ OR installations

Rocoto reports its wireless video is deployed in more than 20,000 operating rooms worldwide.

Ultra-low latency

Ultra-low wireless transmission latency for real-time surgical video, with the MD62 rated for sub-millisecond performance per Rocoto.

Dedicated wireless links

Each Rocoto transmitter and receiver form their own proprietary link. Video does not travel over, or depend on, the hospital Wi-Fi network.

AES-256 encryption

Encrypted video link on every Rocoto medical product shown here, using a proprietary protocol.

AFS and DFS channel selection

Automatic Frequency Selection (AFS) and Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) select the least congested channel in the 5 GHz band. Engineered for reliable performance in RF-dense operating rooms.

Advanced MIMO (MD62)

The MD62 uses 4×5 MIMO, per Rocoto, for a robust link in line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight conditions.

4 receivers per transmitter, 6 links per OR

One transmitter sends the same live video to up to four monitors or recorders, and up to six independent Rocoto wireless links can operate in the same operating room.

Approximately 100 ft (30 m) range

Typical transmitter-to-receiver range of approximately 100 ft (30 m). Actual performance depends on room layout, construction and the RF environment.

Specifications per Rocoto Solutions documentation. Performance varies with room construction, shielding and RF conditions; Chilcutt Medical can review a room’s layout with your team before purchase. Regulatory status: Rocoto’s product documentation for the MD11, MD62, MD52X and HM11X each states FDA Listing, Class I, 510(k) exempt. This is the manufacturer’s statement; Chilcutt Medical does not independently verify listing status, which can be confirmed in the FDA establishment registration and device listing database.

Benefits

What wireless video solves in the OR

Reduce video cable clutter

Replace long video runs between sources and secondary displays with a transmitter and receiver, clearing cable from the floor and around the sterile field.

Improve monitor mobility

Secondary monitors can be positioned where the team needs them without being tied to a video cable back to the source.

Simplify OR retrofits

Add video destinations to an existing room without opening walls or rewiring equipment — useful for renovations and rooms that change specialty.

Efficient video distribution

Reduce the need to route video cabling through walls and ceiling booms; one source can serve several displays and recorders.

Feed secondary displays and recorders

Send the same live video to up to four receivers — additional monitors, recorders, or both.

Support teaching and observation

Share the procedure view with learners and observers on displays in or outside the OR, including the surgeon’s point of view with the HM11X (availability on request).
